You don’t need a lot of time and ingredients to make this maple fudge recipe. Most importantly, you don’t even need a thermometer: it’s that easy!

Why this recipe works

  • Only 3 ingredients. All you need is pecan butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil (another 3 ingredient favorite is our sugar free fudge).
  • A no-bake recipe. This maple fudge is an easy no-bake treat that takes a few minutes to make and around an hour to set in the fridge.
  • Healthy. If you are looking for a healthy fudge recipe that doesn’t contain white sugar, here you have it.
  • Dairy-free. This fudge is made without any butter and milk. It is completely vegan and dairy-free.

What I love about this recipe is just how fast it is! It’s the perfect treat to make if you have an event or gathering and need to bring a plate!

What is maple fudge made of?

If you’ve made any of our healthy desserts before, you probably already have everything on hand. Here is what you’ll need:

  • Pecan butter. Both homemade and store-bought pecan butter will work so long as it is sugar-free and have a smooth consistency.
  • Maple syrup. It is important to use pure maple syrup for this recipe. Pure maple syrup is what provides the rich maple flavor of the fudge and makes it a healthy treat.
  • Coconut oil. Helps hold the fudge together at room temperature. You can also use unsalted butter.

How to make maple syrup fudge

Start by lining an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and set it aside.

Next, add the pecan butter and the coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until fully melted. Stir in the maple syrup and mix well until fully combined.

Now, pour the mixture into the lined pan and refrigerate it for an hour or until the fudge firms up.

Tips to make the best recipe

  • Mix in some chopped pecans. Chopped pecans will add texture to the fudge and enhance its nutty flavor.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt. The sea salt helps create a salty, sweet perfection in each bite and takes the flavor of the maple fudge to the next level.
  • Cut the fudge when it’s fully set. To get perfectly clean cuts, allow the fudge to be fully set before you cut it. Use a sharp knife to cut the fudge.

Flavor variations

The beauty of this fudge is that it is super simple to customize to fit your dietary preferences. Here is what we’ve tried:

  • Use almond butter. Pecan butter has a nuttier flavor than almond butter. If you enjoy the flavor of almond butter more, feel free to use it to make this. You can also try peanut butter.
  • Make it nut-free. Swap out the pecan butter for tahini or sunflower seed butter.
  • Add cinnamon. Cinnamon pairs well with both maple syrup and cashew butter. A pinch of cinnamon added to the fudge will make its flavor richer and warmer.
  • Add vanilla extract. Adding vanilla extract to the fudge mixture is another easy way to enhance its flavor.

Storage instructions

To store: Fudge is best stored in the fridge. Refrigerated in an airtight container, it will last for up to 3 weeks.

To freeze: You can also freeze maple fudge in a ziplock bag for 2 to 3 months.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my maple fudge grainy?

Maple fudge turns grainy due to the sugar crystals forming in it. This is due to the fudge being refrigerated before it reaches room temperature or from overmixing.

What is the secret to perfect fudge?

The secret to a perfect fudge is to not overheat the ingredients. Additionally, it is important to fully set the fudge before you try to cut it.

  1. Have you become vegan or vegetarian? I rrmember wayyyyyy back you had written a post on overdoing veggies and fiber on a daily basis and you didn’t feel great from it. It helped me realize overeating bloating Foods will bloat you duhhhhh?????. So wuz up with your food bent lately??? You can always count me in on travel. It’s what I live for.

    1. Haha, I keep trying different things- Actually, Lauren inspired me to try other means 🙂

Come travel to Australia, Les- We’d love to take you around 🙂

  2. Sorry about your blender, but the disco sounded fun, you should’ve done it. I’ve been eating out a lot too, but I don’t have your good excuses. I’m itching to travel too, so I would totally be your travel buddy! Sadly, I don’t see a trip happening until May unless it’s for work. 🙁

    1. MAY!!!!! Dude.

I can’t believe you’ve done NY and the Islands. Australia is next…but I will try and visit Williamsburg next year 🙂

  3. Boo for a broken blender. My old one used to randomly turn on if it was plugged in without anyone pressing any buttons. I would be in another room and hear it start, it was creepy. So after that I got rid of it, lol. And yes to all things fudge, yum!

  4. Travel buddy right here!! Nooooo not another blender? I have an extra vitamix (I can explain), come back to the US and it’s yours! Because shipping that thing to Australia would probably cost as much as a blender? Also that chorizo dish looks amazeballs!

  5. You are in luck my friend. I have an extra blender.

Also there’s a restaurant right by that makes the most amazing Mac & Cheese, vegan Mac & Cheese that is. This is coming from the cheese queen too so I bet that bolognese was pretty damn good.

  6. Ack! The dreaded smoke alarm. Believe it or not, our dogs are terrified of the smoke alarm…like to the point they break down into quivering little puddles of fur if the thing even thinks about beeping. I have definitely been known to race across a room and bat a smoke detector off the ceiling with full force when it goes off. I mean they’re essential for our safety…but the poor pups! Also, this maple pecan fudge is essential for my consumption right now. Please send a batch ASAP. Thanks!

  7. Accidents create the best inventions. Just remember the sticky note, the chocolate chip cookie and the microwave oven! TOTALLY genius, right?! 😉 And the veggie soy burger and pasta both look splendid!
