Homemade Brownie Larabar Recipe
Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabars are just another homemade version part of my vegan whole30 recipe series!
I’m dedicated to proving to you that making your own homemade versions of popular store-bought bars are not only cost-effective but actually taste so much better!
If you are not a fan of chocolate, there is always the blueberry muffin or carrot cake flavors. However, I am a die-hard coconut fan and can never say no to the coconut cream pie version.
I’ve been getting tons of questions on the other recipes so thought I’d address them here in one go!
Are Larabars actually good for you?
Personally, I do think Larabars are good for you! Larabars are loaded with wholesome, satisfying ingredients. While they may seem deceptively small in size, the healthy fats really do a great job of keeping you satisfied in between meals or as some solid workout fuel.
Do Larabars have sugar in them?
Larabars do not contain any sugar in them, as they are naturally sweetened using dried fruits.
Some may argue that sugar is sugar, but for my recipes, unless I use a granulated white processed sugar (or like product), I will not call it ‘sugar’.
What are the ingredients in the Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabars?
Dates, almonds, walnuts, sea salt, chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabars are Whole30?
No, unfortunately. As they contain chocolate chips, they aren’t whole30 compliant. However, for a paleo, vegan and whole foods snack recipe, it fits the bill!
Can I make these Chocolate Chip Brownie Larabars Whole30 compliant?
YES! To make these chocolate chip brownie Larabar recipe whole30 compliant, simply leave out the chocolate chips! They still have a brownie-like flavor.
If you are a participant in the whole30 challenge or program, just be cautious. Whole30 aims to focus on not replacing certain foods with copycat versions- Enjoy these in moderation or as a wholesome snack, not as a chocolate replacement!

Low Carb Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Tools and key ingredients used in making these homemade no bake chocolate chip brownie larabars-
Blender or Food Processor- Make sure you use a good quality food processor or high-speed blender. This will ensure the dates don’t stick to the blade and everything mixes evenly. Using a silicone spatula to scrape down the edges is a lifesaver!
Dates- If possible, use Medjool dates over generic dates, as they are naturally softer, gooey and easier to blend. If not, ensure your dates are soaked in warm water for 30 minutes prior!

Looks delicious and so easy!
Should the dates be soaked fr the Lara bars?
Hi Rita, if they are super dry, yes!
I’m often sceptical of anything with “paleo” in the title but you have me hooked, these look REALLY good!
Cheers, Kelly!
That looks absolutely delicious!
Thank you 🙂
I’m obsessed with LARABARS! My favorite flavors are peanut butter cookie, peanut butter and jelly, and blueberry muffin! I definitely have to try these brownie LARABAR replicas. They look way too easy to make!
My kids and I just made these and they are sooooo good! I missed the part about soaking the dates so I just added a couple TBS water. Thanks!
So welcome, glad it worked out 🙂
